Question: Is it odd i still play with dolls?
(Posted by: Jessica_Rabbit on 2010-03-09 00:52:58)
I abandoned it in highschool after year 7 because it was considered childish and i cared what people thought. Now i am 19 and i dont play with dolls in the sense of "pretend ". Its actually very odd, all i do is organise them, dress them and leave it to be admired, I tried talking and comunicating through dolls about 4 years ago but it felt wierd. I have the new polly pocket dolls and I put clothes on them, set them up in a scene and leave it, then pack it away 20 minutes later when ive finished. I also adore disney cartoon movies. I am the biggest fan of disney princess and my favourite is aurora. This ontop of all cartoon or "child " films. Im not ashamed of it in any way but i s'pose im human to ask whether men or women find it strange ? Im reasonably good looking so its not like im the stereotyped girl who does none else but play on her own. I am very introverted tho. I dont know, is this a turn off for men? |

Don't worry about what other people think, if it's what YOU like to do. That's all that should matter as long as your having fun with it. :) Plus disney cartoon movies are the best! I have a disney princess poster in my room ofcourse next to my sexy fireman poster haha! :) |

No it's not odd. It just seems to me that your imagination needs an outlet, especially if as you say, you are somewhat introverted. If you told people that dolls are your hobby, nobody would bat an eyelid. In fact doll collecting is a very lucrative past-time, with many doll fairs and organisations dedicated to the subject. I suspect that you are that age where you feel you should be "grown-up " and "adult " at all times; believe me, in twenty years' time you will still hanker after more childish pursuits! |

I don't think its weird a lot of people like dolls and collect them, teddy bears too. They are just fun and fashionable. You don't sound like you have arrested development or anything, you just like dolls. It's no big deal |
