I was just wondering if people learn from playing a lot of video games. i mean i played a lot of video games wich include a lot of reading. so i was just wondering if playing video games can actually help you out in learning/ thinking methods.

Yes. People learn lots of things from video games. Reading, as you mentioned, along with skills like typing an manual dexterity. Critical thinking, problem solving, tactics, and mathematics are a few more examples of practical things learned in video games. On top of that, there is the games themselves. The reason games are fun is because we are learning new things. The most fun games are those that still have new things to learn about playing them right up until the end. This is called a learning curve, and it's a delicate balance. If the curve is too steep, then it's not fun because it's too hard, but if it's too shallow, then it's not fun because it requires very little real effort or learning. Learning how to play a specific game might not be practical in and of itself, but learning anything makes us better at learning and interpreting in general.

I'd say yea, foreigners get to learn english(if they play the game in english ofc), more sophisticated vocab, and personally inspiration for art :D I'm pretty sure there's a lot more though and it depends on what kind of video games you're talking about.

Playing video games will give you knowledge about the game that you are playing, nothing really that helps you in real life, and video games actually shorten you attention spand.. since your brain isnt really doing any work to process the the info, its already processed. that goes for tv.
